CPD Courses
The Purple Turtle Therapy Academy courses are Continued Professional Development courses (CPD) for qualified therapists. Courses are Federation of Holistic Therapist (FHT) approved and insured.
A CPD certificate will be awarded on successful completion of this course. Courses are for one day and classes are kept to a maximum of 6 students to allow for individual attention and thorough learning. Purple Turtle Therapy Academy is proud to maintain industry standards, if we feel you need more study time to reach a standard of excellence you will be offered a chance to retake the course for free at the next available opportunity.
All courses are held at Purple Turtle Therapy, Kingsway, Hove, East Sussex, BN3 2WW unless otherwise stated. Courses are usually run on a Sunday to give minimum disruption to your working week and the times of all the courses are 10.30am – 5.30pm unless otherwise stated. All equipment, couches, linen and oils are provided and a course handbook is included to accompany the courses.
FHT members can receive a 10% discount on production of a valid FHT membership number/card.

Pregnancy Massage Course
Learn how to work safely on pregnant clients with confidence, enhance your skills and work within the realms of your insurance. The course aims to enable you to adapt your usual routines to working with pregnant clients after the first trimester and extend your knowledge of pre and post natal massage.
The Pregnancy Massage course is an intensive course that combines theory and practical learning and the course content includes:
- Anatomy and Physiology in Pregnancy including common pre-natal conditions
- Couch etiquette and massage positioning for couch massage and seated massage, including working with the fitness ball
- Adapting your routine for pregnant clients to incorporate a full body massage
- Client consultation and contra-indications
- Carrier oils and Aromatherapy Essential oils
- Massage techniques for Pregnancy conditions
- After care advice
This course is awarded 5 CPD points. All students must be qualified in Massage and Anatomy & Physiology as it is a post-graduate course.
Taught by an enthusiastic qualified tutor with 6 years teaching experience and 8 years therapy industry experience who has trained in Pregnancy Massage with Christine Fisk of FHT and Suzanne Yates of Well Mother and has taught Holistic Therapies at City College Brighton & Hove.
Natural Facelift Massage Course
This course teaches a special combination of Eastern and Western Facial Massage, Acupressure points and Facial Reflexology. Also known as Facial Rejuvenation or Natural Lift Facial Massage, this is a wonderfully relaxing treatment that balances the client holistically through facial massage. The massage techniques learnt can improve the complexion by stimulating skin rejuvenation and boosting cellular activity, aiding the removal of toxins and improving the flow of lymph. It reduces muscle tension and helps to reduce expression lines and wrinkles as well as toning and tightening the skin and the underlying muscles.
In this course you will become competent in:
- The history of Natural Facelift Massage
- Pressure points to the face which connect and balance the flow of energy to the whole body
- Techniques including lifting, smoothing and stabilising
- Adapting your massage to treat the individual
- Contra-indications and contra-actions
- After care advice and facial rejuvenation exercises
This course is mainly practical as the results speak for themselves!
The Natural Facelift course is awarded 10 CPD points. Taught by an enthusiastic qualified tutor with 6 years teaching experience and 8 years therapy industry experience. Pre-requisites are that students must hold a qualification in either Body Massage or Indian Head Massage.

The Purple Turtle Therapy Academy runs workshops for groups with a minimum of two people in Massage, Reflexology, Hopi Ear Candles and Facials, just call or email to discuss your requirements. Individual training is available on request.
